My Philosophy
I expect students to come to class ready to learn. I believe that all students can behave appropriately in my classroom. Students will be responsible for complying with the expectations and regulations of the school district and the instruction of all school district personnel. Activities are planned to allow for active participation and students are expected to behave in a manner that is appropriate for a five-year-old child.
Behavior Chart
Within the TIGER binder, there is a chart for good behavior. If a child has good behavior throughout the day, a smiley face is added to the chart. If a student has had reminders throughout the day about inappropriate behavior, then he/she will receive a letter on the chart that coincides with the behavior that he/she needs to continue working on to achieve behavioral excellence. On some incidences, there may be a note written to give more details about their day. Students are given several reminders and verbal cues to assist them with grasping and applying the concepts of good and proper behavior and actions. Thus, parents are informed daily about the behavioral progress of their child.
Incentives:
Per week- may choose a piece of candy
Per month- may choose a prize from the treasure chest
Per semester- may attend a lunch party in the classroom
Extra:
Owl- Students work together to earn a class party by putting feathers on the owl. This starts over as soon as the owl is full. Feathers are never taken away, only earned.
